Robert Wales Carpenter, Jr., the oldest son of Robert W. Carpenter, Sr. and Dorothy Crossman, entered the Celestial Lodge on October 21, 2022. Bob was born December 8, 1942 in Danbury, Connecticut. He attended Bowling Green State University, earning a BS in Business Management in 1964. Bob served the Bowling Green Ohio Police Department as a sworn officer. Moving to Richmond, he held enforcement positions with the Virginia Department of Commerce, was an estimator for Natkin & Co, and worked as a fraud investigator for Capitol One. Bob was a life member of Tuckahoe Masonic Lodge No. 347, served as Master in 1984, District Deputy Grand Master in 2001, and was Lodge Secretary for 35 years. He was also the General Secretary of the Scottish Rite Valley of Richmond for the last 17 years. He is survived by his bride of 30 years, Paige Rodwyn Keran Carpenter; sons, Robert Wales Carpenter III and Scott R. Carpenter (Amy); two grandchildren, Scott and Taylor Carpenter; step-son, Joshua Davis (Alexis); a brother, James E. Carpenter (Brenda); and two nieces, Tonya & Leann. The family thanks the staff of Suncrest Hospice for their care and kindnesses during Bob's illness and home going. The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. on Friday, November 4, 2022 with Masonic services, at 6 PM. The Craft is requested to assemble by 5:30 PM at the West Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 11020 West Broad St.
