Marion Garten "Sparky" Sparks, Jr., 72, passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2016.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at 11:00AM at Christ Church with Reverend Cynthia Knapp officiating. The family will greet friends at a reception following the service in the Cloister Room. Interment will follow the reception at Rose Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Christ Church, 582 Walnut Street, Macon, GA 31201.

Sparky is preceded in death by his parents, Marion Garten and Doris Huff Sparks, Sr.

Sparky graduated from Middlesex School in Concord, Massachusetts. He attended the University of Georgia where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta and played for the football team.

Sparky built his first Ham radio at the young age of 12 and his call name was K4FZP. He was a member and volunteer at Christ Church where he helped in the office and answered the phone. Sparky had a strong affinity and love for Christ Church.

Sparky is survived by his sister, Dotty Sparks de Blanc of St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands; many cousins; loving friends; fraternity brothers; and football colleagues.
