Mrs. Lola M. Esson, late resident of Brooks, died at a local hospital in Salem, Ore. Friday, May 21, 1948.
(She was born in Higgins, Texas on May 28, 1888 to William Hiram Black and Evalena Farmer. She married Leroy Alexander Esson on Oct. 30 1912 at Woodburn, Oregon. Their children were Evanelle and Alexander, Jr.).
She is survived by her husband, Leroy Esson of Brooks; a daughter, Mrs. Thomas Ewing of Salem; mother, Mrs. Wm. Hiram Black, and a sister, Mrs. Harry House of Higgins, Texas, and two grandchildren.
(She was preceded in death by her father, and brother, William T. Black; and son Alexander "Zan" Esson).
Services will be held Tuesday, May 25, at 3 p.m. in the W.T. Rigdon Chapel with interment in the Esson Family Cemetery at Mount Angel, Oregon.
