September 1, 1941 ~ April 21, 2022 (age 80)
Robert Lee Bollinger, 80, of Frostburg, MD, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 21, 2022. He was born September 01, 1941, to the late John H. and Gladys V. (Hendley) Bollinger. Robert (Bob) grew up in Eckhart Mines and graduated from Beall High School in 1959.
Bob also answered his nation's call to serve a tour in the U.S. Navy. He worked as a produce manager at Acme Markets for 30 years until he retired in 1990. Bob then worked as a maintenance manager at Holiday Inn until he retired in 2006. Bob enjoyed wood working, fishing, spending time in bible study at First English Baptist Church in Frostburg, caring for stray cats, and blocking telemarketers (haha). He was a wonderful, loving husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed spending his free time with his family.
Bob is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Carol (Beal) Bollinger; sons, Allan (Michelle) Bollinger, of Moyock, NC., Brian (Ann) Bollinger, of Leesburg, VA., and Steven (Michele) Bollinger, of Keyser, WV. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren, Vanessa, Austin, Jeremy, Sarah, Jennifer, David, and Kaylee. In addition, he is survived by two great grandchildren, McKenzie and Liam.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 30th at the First English Baptist Church, 136 E Main St., Frostburg, MD 21532, 301-689-3232.
Burial will follow at Eckhart Family Cemetery, Eckhart Mines.
