Alan Wayne Joyce, 35, of Wilmington, N.C., and formerly of Fieldale, Va., died at his residence in Wilmington, N.C., Friday, January 18, 2008.
Born July 25, 1972 in Martinsville, Virginia, he was the son of Dale Joyce of Longs, and the late Wayne Dudley Joyce.
Mr. Joyce was employed by the sales department of the Wilmington Rubber and Gasket Company for over 10 years. He was also a member of the Fieldale Baptist Church, Fieldale, Va.
Surviving in addition to his mother, are his paternal grandmother, Lorraine Joyce of Wilmington, N.C.; his maternal grandmother, Nellie Rush of Hardy, Va.; and a sister, Amanda Dale Joyce of Henry, Va.
The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at Norris Funeral Services Chapel, with the Rev. Steve Tilley officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park, Martinsville, Va.
