Vivian Elvina (Stenulson) Kalstad, 96, passed away peacefully at the Black River Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, after a brief illness.

Vivian was born on July 10, 1927, to Rudolph and Gunda (Thompson) Stenulson in Squaw Creek, Wisconsin, where she was raised with her seven siblings. She was baptized and confirmed at the Squaw Creek Lutheran Church and later graduated from the Squaw Creek Grade School.

In 1949, Vivian married the love of her life, Carl Kalstad, on Christmas Eve. Together the couple raised two sons, Gary and Jerry. Vivian was a devoted mother and homemaker. A life-long member of the Squaw Creek Lutheran Church, Vivian taught Sunday school and Bible school for many years and was a Ladies Aide for the Squaw Creek A.L.C.W. (American Lutheran Church Women).

Vivian is predeceased by her parents, Rudolph and Gunda, her loving husband, Carl Kalstad, brothers Richard, Gustave, Alfred, Eugene, Alvin, and Henry, and her sister Gladys.

She is survived by her two sons, Gary (Debra) Kalstad and Jerry Kalstad, grandchildren Jennifer and Nathan, great-grandson Elijah, and many nieces and nephews.
