Alfred was a lifelong native of Sopchoppy. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a retired sign and house painter, and was a member of the Sopchoppy Masons.
Alfred was survived by his wife of 59 years, Juanita S. Roddenberry of Sopchoppy; two sons, Thurmond Roddenberry and Billy Roddenberry; two daughters, Electa NeWayne Walker and Fanchon Revell; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Myrtle Langston of Sopchoppy.
