Age 102, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2022. Leo was born in Lansing on April 5, 1920, the son of Steven and Stevenia (Galantowiscz) Marczynski. He graduated from Lansing Central High School in 1938 and served his country with the U.S. Army during WWII. Leo worked as a manager for D and C Stores in Lansing and Grand Ledge, MI. He married Fern Diener in 1942 and together, they shared 74 ½ years together, until her death in 2017. They enjoyed square dancing and traveling in their Airstream trailer. Leo was a devoted member of St. Gerard Catholic Church and sang in the choir. He was preceded in death by his wife; his daughter, Marilyn and son, Stephen. Surviving are his daughters, Suzanne (John) Kraft and Anne Marczynski; grandsons, Patrick and Joseph Kraft; great grandchildren, Andrew, Patrick, Colin and Weston Kraft. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, May 26, 10:30 a.m., at St. Gerard Catholic Church, where visitation will begin Thursday, 9:30 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, with military honors provided by the U.S. Army. For those wishing, memorial contributions may be made to UP-Home Health and Hospice of Marquette, MI in memory of Leo.
