Donna Jean "Miss Donna" Austin, 83 of Chillicothe, OH, gained her angel wings on Saturday March 5, 2022 at Carecore Westmoreland nursing facility after a courageous battle with dementia. Miss Donna was born on July 10, 1938 in Chillicothe to the late John and Mary Valentine Lynch.

She was married to Harold P. Austin on Sept 6, 1957, in Chillicothe, OH. Miss Donna was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers John Lynch Jr., Donald Lynch, and Larry Lynch and best friend JoAnn Brooks. Also preceded her are sisters-in-law Christina Duncan, Norma Smith, and brothers-in-law Chester, Hobart, and Russell Austin.

Donna leaves to cherish her memories her daughter Denise; grandchildren: Ryan (Melissa) Brown, Quincy, Illinois, and Brandon (Erica Mowbray) Brown, Chillicothe. Her great-grandchildren: Camden Brown, Jada Brown, and Avrey Mowbray. She is survived by her brother Charles Lynch, sisters-in-law Diane Lynch, Lucille Lee, Nedra Valentine, Mary Howard, Lovada Cousins; brother-in-law Bill Hill of Indianapolis; and special friends Bonnie Thomas and Anne Robinson.

Miss Donna graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1957. She worked for the old Chillicothe Hospital and retired from the VA after 20 years of service.

Miss Donna was a lifetime member of Quinn Chapel AME Church where she served in many capacities. She was the church secretary for many years, and was the pianist for many years and would not let the church pay her for playing. She was a member of the senior choir, combined choir, women's choir and helped with the youth choir. She also was a member of the Mary E. Lynch missionary society and one of the leaders for the Young Peoples Department. She was also one of the members of the Kitchen Committee. She loved working in the kitchen. Miss Donna helped with vacation bible school, teaching the younger children about Jesus. In her younger days she was a Sunday school teacher. In the later years she was a member of the Sedia Guild.

Miss Donna was in many fraternal organizations. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Chapter No. 6 Order of the Eastern Star PHA (Prince Hall Affiliate) for more than 55 years. She served as the past Matron and past Secretary. She was a member of Amaranth Grand Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, State of Ohio PHA where she was a past Grand Deputy of the Seventh OES district. A member of Rollin F. Kelly Sr. Court #4 Heroines of Jericho where she was a past Most Ancient Matron (PHA), member of Capital Valley #36 Order of the Golden Circle where she was the past Loyal Lady Ruler, a member of Ohio Grand Assembly Order of the Golden Circle (PHA), member of Ohio Grand Assembly Order of the Golden Circle (PHA) where she was the past State Grand Loyal Lady Ruler, and member of Alla Baba Court #75 daughter of the Shriners (PHA).

Services will be held at Quinn Chapel A.M.E. church on Saturday March 19, 2022. The viewing will be from 11:00 to 12:30, with an Eastern Star service to start at 12:30. The funeral will be at 1:00 under the direction of Haller Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Cemetery. Haller Funeral Home
