Hoyt C. Miller
September 7, 1925 - March 5, 2022

Hoyt C. Miller, 96, of Arab, AL went home to be with Jesus and his adoring wife on Saturday, March 5, 2022. He attended Etowah High School and the University of Alabama in Gadsden. He retired from Redstone Arsenal as the Material Management Cataloging Division Chief in 1981. He was a member of the church of Christ.
Mr. Miller served his country in the Army during World War II. He received seven Campaign Ribbons and was the recipient of a Purple Heart as a result of being wounded during the Battle of Hurtgen Forest.
Mr. Miller loved the outdoors, farming in his earlier years, and gardening. He enjoyed working the soil, marveled at God's handiwork as he watched the plants grow, but most of all he loved giving away the harvest to family and friends.
Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Margaret Alford Miller; his parents Carson C. Miller and Kate Murphy Miller; two brothers, Ralph Miller and Paul Miller; three sisters, Lillian Miller McKenzie, Jewel Miller Foster, and Martha Miller Ellison. Mr. Miller is survived by two brothers Hugh Miller and Carson Lee Miller.
Mr. Miller's love of God was greater than anything and as a result he was the best and most devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather possible. Those left to cherish his memories are his children; Phillip Miller (Vicki), Deborah Walker (Glen), and Lynn Miller (Sharon); grandchildren are Kristin Walker (Greg Meeks), Holli McLeod, Casey Miller (Stormie), Jason Miller (Caroline), and Justin Miller; great-grandchildren are Major Walker, Riggs McLeod, Miller McLeod, Charlee Miller, and Caelum Miller.
Mr. Miller lived his entire life in preparation for his going home on Saturday.
Pallbearers will be Casey Miller, Jason Miller, Justin Miller, and Major Walker.
The family requests no flowers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Arab church of Christ, 1005 N Main St, Arab, AL 35016, or your favorite charity.
There will be a graveside service at 11:00AM on Thursday, March 10, 2022, at Crestwood Cemetery in Gadsden, AL. Ken Tyler will officiate.
