Her love of her family was felt in everything she did. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were the center of her universe and she was always there for them. She will be remembered for her famous chocolate chip cookies and she could always be found in the kitchen cooking and baking for her family. Betty was a graduate of the former Birdsboro High School. She worked as a nurse for many years at the former Ide's Nursing Home. She later worked for Boscov's Distribution Center until her retirement. A lifelong member of St. Paul's UCC, Birdsboro, PA, she was devoted in her faith and enjoyed time spent with her friends in the church's Helping Hands organization.
Left to treasure her memory are son, Charles E. Care of Birdsboro, PA, and daughter, Mary A. wife of William Price of Exeter Twp., Berks Co., PA. She was the proud MomMom to three grandchildren, Julie (Dave), Jonathan (Carrie), and Christopher (Kara). Also her five great-grandchildren, Emmalyn, Rhys, Natalie, Declan, and Shawn.She was predeceased by son, John S. Care, Jr. and brothers, Ernest A. Gilfert, Jr. and George W. Gilfert.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at the Dengler Funeral Home, 144 N. Spruce Street, Birdsboro, PA with the funeral service at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in Birdsboro Cemetery.
