EVA LOREEN EASON

Eva Loreen (Clark) Nowlin Eason was born Feb. 16, 1913, north of Katie, which was then called Brady Township, to W.E. and Miranda Clark and died March 1. She was preceded in death by her parents, seven sisters, Via, Luda, Ida, Iva, Willie, Maidra and Lois Ellen, and one brother, Spurgeon.

Funeral services were held March 3 at First Baptist Church in Davis. Dr. Lonny Lee officiated. Interment was in Oaklawn Cemetery at Wynnewood under the direction of Fox Funeral Home.

Mrs. Eason accepted Christ at the age of 12 and served him until her passing. She taught Sunday School for many years in the junior department and adult ladies classes. She also served as W.M.U. director in the church in Davis and Yazoo City, Miss. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Davis.

She married Monta Nowlin in July, 1928. To that union was born four children, LaVerne, Dixie, Rex and Zane, who preceded her in death November 1993. Monta Nowlin died in 1956. At the time of his death, they lived in Yazoo City. Monta had requested that she move to Davis upon his death, which she did for 16 years. In 1973 she married Sidney J. Eason and moved to Sulphur. Sidney passed away in 1979 and she returned to Davis in 1980. In June 1993, she could no longer live alone and moved to Burford Manor where she lived until her death.

She is survived by LaVerne and Gordon Pullen and Dixie and Ronnie Digby of Davis, Rex and Flora Nowlin of Edmond, a daughter-in-law, Jackie Nowlin of Wilburton, and a step-son, Larry and LaQuita Eason of Ft. Worth, Texas, 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Jim Clemons, Pete Byrd, Boo Broaddrick, Jimmy Primrose, Jerry Paul Pullen and Bo Meador.

DAVIS -- Services for Eva Loreen Clark Nowlin Eason will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Davis First Baptist Church with Dr. Lonny Lee officiating. Interment will be at Oaklawn Cemetery, Wynnewood.

She married Monta Nowlin in July of 1928. He died in 1956. She and Sidney J. Eason were married in 1973. He died in 1979. She was a former Sunday school teacher in Yazoo City, Miss., and WMU director at First Baptist Church, Davis.

Survivors include two daughters, LaVern Pullen and Dixie Digby, Davis; a son, Rex Nowlin, Edmond; stepson, Larry Eason, Fort Worth, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, Zane Nowlin, in 1993; seven sisters; and a brother.

Bearers will be Jim Clemons, Pete Byrd, Boo Broaddrick, Jimmy Primrose, Jerry Paul Pullen and Bo Meador.
