He honorably served our country in the United States Navy during Cuban Missile Crisis and the Bay of Pigs. Ox was of the Baptist faith and attended several churches. He was a longtime heavy equipment operator. He was avid fisherman, and enjoyed picking at his family, just to ruffle your feathers.
Ox was preceded in death by his wife Janice Houck-Davis, his step son Rodney Houck, his parents William and Maggie Davis, his brother's Gary Davis, Truman Davis, Joe Davis, and his sister Doris Cone, and daughter in law Dorothy Davis.
He is survived by his children, Donna Johnson (David Land), William "John John" Davis, Jr., Christopher "Spooney" Davis (Kristy), Russell "Hog Body" Davis (Connie), Dawn "Auntie D" Davis (Rick Ross), Angel Aldous (Aaron), Christopher "Louchow" Houck, Wanda Davis, and Christopher "Bubba" Houck; his sister's Betty Williams (Curtis), Susan Keck, Mary Lamb, and Sissy Bazemore (Rick); numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Cremation services have been arranged with Burns Funeral Home. Interment services will follow at a later date in Woodyard Cemetery.
