James Charles Laird of Sunny Valley, Chatsworth went home to be with his Lord on Monday, May 27th, 2013. Jim passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the Chesley Hospital at the age of 86 years. Cherished husband of Janet Laird (nee Lowe) , dear brother of Laura Stinson and Edna Hamilton (Bill) and brother in law of Cathy Laird. Beloved uncle of many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents James and Edna Laird , his brother John Laird, his nephew, Bill Hamilton, his brother in law Melville Stinson. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the wonderful staff of the Wesley Hospital for the great care Jim received and also a special thank you to the staff of Kettles Restaurant. Friends may call at the Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 -24th Street West, Owen Sound, Ontario on Friday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and one hour prior to service. A Funeral Service for Jim will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, June 1st, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Alan Barr officiating. Internment in Greenwood Cemetery. If so desired the family would appreciate donations to the Latona Presbyterian Church, Dornoch as your expression of sympathy. The Sarawak Loyal Orange Lodge # 1302 will hold a memorial service at the Funeral Home on Friday evening at 6:45 p.m. All Brethren are invited to attend.
