Nancy J. Gilson, 65 of Sheboygan Falls, passed away at her home on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 following a lengthy illness.

Nancy was born in Milwaukee on April 19, 1956, she was one of eight children born to the late Frank and Magdalene (Binder) Platt. In November of 2005 she was united in marriage to John Gilson. While in high school she met her lifelong friend, Sue. Attending college she studied to become a writer, writing several published poems.

Nancy loved music, the beach and tropical vacations. She loved spending summers at their camper with family and friends. Nancy and John always hosted a good party where she would make way to much food and always made sure there were enough cocktails for everyone. If anyone left hungry or thirsty Nancy would tell John "we didn't try hard enough." Nancy loved a good practical joke and giving a well thought-out gag gift for no reason at all. Her witty sense of humor will never be forgotten as one of the last treasures she found while out shopping one day was a tin to place her cremains in; an antique Premium Saltine Cracker canister.

Nancy is survived by her husband, John; her daughter, Meghan Johnson (significant other, Brent Tattman) of Grafton; a son, Elliot Smith (significant other, Heather Herziger) of Belgium; six grandchildren; four brothers and three sisters along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a son, Alexander Johnson and her parents.

In accordance with her wishes cremation will take place and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date for her family and friends.

Nancy's family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to the caregivers of Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for the care and compassion given to Nancy and her family.

Wittkopp Funeral and Cremation Service of Plymouth is serving Nancy's family.
