Civil War Veteran from Co. F and Co.K, 14th Illinois Infantry. James was the first husband of Philadelphia G. "Delphia" (Stewart) Covey Lee. They were married on August 9, 1865 in St. Louis, Missouri. His wife was living with her parents in 1870 in Scott County, Illinois and she got remarried in Nebraska in 1877. I believe James died between 1865 and 1870. His headstone records state that his date of death could not be obtained. James was the son of Elisha Covey and Eveline (Evans) Covey.
