Lois G. Luft, 87, passed away Sunday, Dec. 2, 2007, peacefully in the presence of her family at her home. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, at Waco Memorial Park with the Rev. Ron Durham, Pastor Emeritus of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church, officiating. The family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, at OakCrest Funeral Home.

Lois Geraldine was born in Ennis, Texas, to the late Robert and Thelma Elizabeth "Dolly" Cashion. The family moved to Waco when Lois was quite young, and where she lived throughout her life. Lois attended Waco Public Schools, was employed at J.M. Woods Manufacturing for 22 years, and Waco Apparel for 16 years retiring in 1991.

Lois faithfully worshipped each Sunday through the Columbus Avenue Baptist Church television ministry. Although she lived a simple and humble life, Lois was blessed with a wealth of love, compassion, and care for others. For those who knew Lois, it was easy to recognize that her greatest joy in life was sharing a genuine love for her children and their families.

Lois was preceded in death by her loving husband, Mark W. Luft, who passed away in 1976. She remained in her home and lived independently for 31 years after his death.

Lois is survived by daughters, Virginia Crow and her husband, Fraser, of Murchison, Texas, and Beverly Young and her husband, James, of Waco; sons, Keith M. Luft and his wife, Brenda, of Plano, Texas, and Gary W. Luft and his wife, Bonnie, of Waco; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and a multitude of friends.
