Chris Abernathy was born on November 18, 1947 and passed away peacefully on August 29, 2021, at 73 years old.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 18 years, Susan Abernathy, his children, Michael (Caroline Bryant) Abernathy, Dean Abernathy, Christina Brasic, Christiana Abernathy and Bradon Abernathy, 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Chris is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Elbert Dana and Mabel Irene Abernathy.

Chris was a proud United States Army Veteran, serving 25 years total in the Military, including time served in the Vietnam War. Chris enjoyed vacationing and traveling just about anywhere. He boarded over 10 different cruise ships with his family, his favorite one being Alaska. Chris also enjoyed riding his motorcycle in his free time. He will be missed by many.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 3rd from 10am until the Funeral Service at 11am at Pederson Funeral Home. Chris will be laid to rest at Fort Custer National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Heartland Hospice in memory of Chris.
