John was the second child of Herb Becker and Joyce Schaller. He was born with severe mental and physical disabilities, causing the need for 24 hr care. As he grew older these challenges eventually became impossible to manage in the home. Despite being deeply loved by his entire family, John's daily needs became overwhelming and he required full time professional care. He was then admitted to long term residential facilities at the St Louis State Hospital where he lived for forty-five years. Later in adulthood he moved to Emmaus Home in Marthasville where he was a resident for many additional years.
Johnny was a sweet and gentle soul whose endearing personality captured our hearts. He died of pneumonia at the age of sixty-five. He endured very difficult circumstances in life without complaint and will find his final peace in the arms of God.
