It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Thelma Gallagher (nee Thayer) on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at the age of 97.
Predeceased by her husband Charles Gallagher, her infant son Charles Frederick and her parents Frederick and Lillian Thayer.
Cherished mother of Michael (Sheila), Kevin (Lea) and Maureen (Peter). She will be greatly missed by her loving granddaughters and great-grandchildren.
Our mother spent well over a decade after retiring doing volunteer work at both the Gloucester Seniors Centre and at the CHEO coffee shop. She also volunteered for over a year at the Elisabeth Bruyere Centre and spent her last 10 years happily residing at Bearbrook Retirement Residence.
Cremation and a private service will take place at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry.
Burial service will follow at a later date at St. James Anglican Church, Wright, Quebec.
Our special thanks to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute and Civic Hospital staff who cared for our mother in her final days.
