KILLEEN — Services for Jacqueline Marie Pamplin Barclay, 84, of Killeen will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen with the Rev. Ryan Wyatt officiating.

Mrs. Barclay died Thursday, June 30.

She was born Nov. 7, 1926, to Jasper Garland "Jack" and Marie Amelia Birdwell Pamplin in Rockdale. She went to school in Rockdale and Cameron and graduated from C.H. Yoe High School in Cameron in 1944. She and her family moved to Hood Village at Camp Hood. She worked at the Camp Hood hospital. She married Kenneth Keith "Scooter" Barclay on May 24, 1951, in the post chapel.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Kenneth Barclay of Purmela; a daughter, Melinda Wyatt of Knoxville, Tenn.; a sister, Nanette "Nan" Ray; four grandsons; and four great-grandsons.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

She was born Nov. 7, 1926, in Rockdale to Jasper Garland (Jack) Pamplin and Marie Amelia Birdwell Pamplin.

Mrs. Barclay attended school in Rockdale and Cameron, graduating from Yoe High School in 1944.

She moved with her family to Hood Village at Camp Hood where she worked for the adjutant of the hospital.

She met and married, on May 24, 1951, at the post chapel. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this year.

Mrs. Barclay was proud to be an army wife, being stationed at Fort Benning, Fort Campbell, Fort Bragg and the Language School in Monteray, California.

The Barclays lived overseas in Germany where they traveled throughout Europe and on Okinawa where they visited Japan, Taiwan, Philippines and Thailand.

Mrs. Barclay was preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother, Jack; a sister, Alba Grace Canales; and a grandson, Kenneth Barclay Wyatt.

Survivors are her husband, a son and daughter-in-law, a daughter and son-in-law, four grandsons, four great-grandsons, and a sister.
