Bonnie M. Nelson Salasek, 90, of Mountain Home passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at Hospice House. She was born January 6, 1931, in Esterville, Iowa, to Norence and Florence Nelson.

At about the age of six years her family moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa. After graduating, she was employed by Wilson Company as an office clerk. She met and married the love of her life, Robert Salasek, on May 16, 1948. They had 66 ½ wonderful years together. She was later employed by Cedar Rapids Police Department and later by Abbey Care Center in Linn County. Robert and Bonnie retired from their jobs and a small farm in Paris, Iowa, to Mountain Home n May of 1988. She was a member of First United Methodist Church Hilltop EHC. She enjoyed family get-togethers, watching her grandchildren and fishing with Bob.

Bonnie is survived by three daughters: Janet (Steve)Watson, of Vinton, Iowa, Kathryn (James) Holloway of West Plains, Missouri, and Laurie (Brent of Gainesville, MO) Miller of St. Petersburg, FL; special family: Charlie and Mary Rozek of Toddville, Iowa; two sisters: Dorothy Zinkel of Bullhead City, Arizona and Anna Youngblut of Lisbon, Iowa; one brother: John (Pat) Nelson of Wadena, Minnesota; thirteen grandchildren: Jennifer (Bob) Clemmens of Kansas City, Missouri, Jason Kindig of Brooklyn, Iowa, Brian Kindig of Des Moines, Iowa, Cheryl Rosenberg of Paia, Hawaii, Wende (Jaun) Ochoa of Warrenton, Missouri, Sonya (Chris) Ready of Overland Park, Kansas, Heather (Ed) Hanratty of Warrenton, Missouri, Kyle Holloway of West Plains, Missouri, Melissa (Robert) Rogers of Tecumseh, Missouri, Mindy (Billy) Pippin of Gainesville, Missouri, Michelle (Luke) Cooley of Tecumseh, Missouri, Marsha (Chance) Snell of Gainesville, Missouri, and Jacob Miller of Largo, Florida, as well as nineteen great grandchildren, one sister, Anna: several nieces and nephews, cousins, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by parents, husband Robert, two brothers: Francis Ole Nelson and Raymond Nelson, three sisters: Thelma Wasson, Carolyn Evans, and Dorothy Zinkel; and two grandchildren: Marcie Morarie and Bodie Holloway.
