She was born as Mary Elizabeth Collum on February 12, 1904 in Belle Plaine, Benton County, Iowa, a daughter of Marion Everett Collum and Agnes Evelina (Macy) Collum.

Mary Elizabeth Collum married Frank Bibby on 27 Mar 1924 in Los Angeles County, California. He died on May 26, 1931 in Los Angeles County, California.

She later married a man with the last name of Herold.

Survivors include a son Frank "Bud' Bibby of San Diego, California; Mary Sleeth of Long Beech, California; and Cecilia Bibby of Cocoa Beach, Florida; a brother Ralph Collum of Quartsize, Arizona; and several grandchildren.

Graveside services at 10:00 AM Wednesday, July 6, 1988 at Oak Hill Cemetery.
