NOBLE. Jersey County News. 20 October 1927: Funeral held in Presbyterian church in Otterville by Rev. H. S. Arrill of Jerseyville for Milton B. Noble, former Jersey County resident, who died 13 Oct. in University Hospital, Ann Arbor, Michigan of general peritonitis. Burial in Noble cemetery of Otterville. He was 68 years old. Body sent to Jerseyville. Taken to Jacoby chapel and later to Otterville. Mr. Noble was born in Otterville, this county, married to Minnie Lee Dougherty of Otterville who together with ten children survive him. They moved to Hillsboro, North Dakota. Where he bought a farm about nineteen years ago, when he sold and bought a farm near Saline, Michigan. While the direct cause of his death was peritonitis, Mr. Noble had suffered for nearly a year from an infection of one of his toes, caused by frostbite. An operation was advised and the member amputated ten days before he death occurred. Surviving children are: Wesley, Ross, Nellie, Leaverette, Finis, Mrs. Alma L. Dyer, Miss Jeanette Noble, D. Noble, Mrs. Carl M. Feiner and Mrs. Donald Berkhart. One sister and two brothers also survive. They are Mrs. Emma S. Dodson of Jerseyville and I. C. and J. R. Noble of Alton. Following relatives attended the funeral: Wesley Noble of Helena, Ark., Ross Noble of Prophetstown, Illinois, Mr. and Mrs. Leverette Noble of Atkinson, IL, Miss Jeanette Noble, Mrs. Alma L. Dyer and Mrs. Carl M. Feiner, All of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Mrs. And Mrs. Donald Berkhart, Miss Nellie Noble, Mr. and Mrs. Finis Noble, Mr. and Mrs. D. Boble and Mrs. Lee Noble, all of Saline, Michigan J. R. Noble of Alton, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Noble of Webster Groves, MO., Mr. and Mrs. C. N. Dodson and Mr. and Mrs. Victor Dodson of St. Louis, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Chappell and Mrs. Theresa Noble of Alton, Miss Gussie Noble, Mrs. Delia Hyle and Mrs. Rosa Dee Howard of Alton.
