Mrs. Boyd was born Nov. 29 1859, at Waverly a daughter of Peter and Anna Barbra Steuver Yuenger. She was reared in Pike county and had lived in Portsmouth and on the West Side the last 45 years. She was married 66 years ago to Mr. Boyd, who died Jan. 4, 1930. Eight children were born to them and seven preceded her in death.
Surviving are a son, J. W. Boyd of Hygean Run; a sister Mrs. Louise Coburn of Duck Run pike, 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchild.
Two grandsons, James O. Boyd of Lowell Mass., and Ralph W. Windel of British West Indies, and a great grandson, Walter A. Lewis of Camp Grant, Ill., are in the armed service of the United States, James Boyd arrived home Monday for a furlough.
These children preceded her in death: Mrs. Mary Matilda Whaley, Mrs. Cora Mae Lavinder, Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth Heimstra, Anna K. Boyd, Jesse Frank, and Frederick Boyd. Mrs. Lavinder died Jan. 1 of this year. A grandson Raymond Ray, was burned to death Nov, 10, 1941, when his truck overturned near Vanceburg.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Windel-Howland funeral home with Rev. Clark Schellenger in charge. Burial will be in Rushtown Cemetery. The body is at the funeral home.
