He is survived by his wife, Thelma Bechtold Benwitz; son and daughter-in-law, William and Marcia Benwitz; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Benwitz, Marjorie Same and Caroline Benwitz; grandchildren, Lindsay, Heather and Megan Benwitz; several nieces and nephews; step-children, Robert and Jean Bechtold, Kathleen and James Newcomb, Michael and Linda Bechtold, Joseph and Shan Bechtold, Wendell and Elaine Blonigan, Karen and Donald Dobesh, Gary and Laurie Mortillaro.

Friends may call on Wednesday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM, at the Anthony Funeral Chapel, Webster. His Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, at 9:15 AM, in the Saint Rita's Church, Webster. Interment in the White Haven Memorial Park.

Contributions in his memory may be made to the Saint Rita's Church and School.
