MISHAWAKA - Howard E. Ketcham, 79, passed away Monday, Sept. 24, in
Memorial Hospital. He was born July 28, 1928, to the late W. Jack and
Gladys (Honaker) Ketcham in Booneville, IN. On October 4, 1975, in South
Bend, he married June (Hannigan) Bray. Howard served his country proudly
during World War II in the U.S. Navy. While in the Navy, he served with
the Seabees. Howard retired from Con Rail after 44 years, where he
worked as an engineer and conductor. After retiring, he worked part-time
with North American Expediting where he worked as an expediter. Howard
was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Thomas Michael Ketcham;
and by two stepsons, David and Stephen Bray. Howard is survived by his
loving wife, June of Mishawaka; his daughter, Jeannie Ketcham of Ft.
Myers Beach, FL; sons, Jack Ketcham of South Carolina, James (Lauren)
Ketcham of Cosby, TN, and Joe (Tamara) Ketcham of Coral Springs, FL;
nine grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren; his sister, Elenora
McCoskey of Mims, FL; and his stepbrother, Robert Ketcham of Titusville,
FL. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, in the
Welsheimer Family Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road, South Bend,
with the Rev. Dale Sherry officiating. Friends may visit with the family
two hours prior to the start of services. Burial will follow at St.
Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Family and friends may leave
