Valerie J. Nolan Pratt, 48, of New Palestine, formerly of Madison, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2007, at Clarian Health Methodist Campus in Indianapolis.

She was born Jan. 19, 1959, in Bowling Green, Ky., the daughter of Thomas Wayne Nolan and Ann Flora Green. She was a 1977 graduate of Warren East High School. She attended Ivy Tech and received a degree in bookkeeping. She moved to Madison in 1982, co-owning and co-operating the North Madison Electric Co. since 1984 with her husband. She was a member of the North Eastwood Church of Christ in Indianapolis. She enjoyed softball, all sports, and her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters, Audrea M. Pratt of New Palestine and Latisha B. Lyle of Crofton, Ky.; two sons, Edward R. Pratt of Lexington and Aaron D. Pratt of Crofton, Ky.; her mother, Ann Flora Green of New Palestine; her father, Thomas Wayne Nolan of Oklahoma City, Okla.; seven grandchildren; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Dexter "Ed" Pratt, whom she married April 3, 1981, and who died Jan. 22, 2002; and her stepfather, John Green, who died in 2007.

There was visitation but no service.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre.
