He was a son of the late Henry and Madeline Byrd Ryder. He was a resident of West Virginia for many years before moving to Ohio. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Madeline Arbogast Ryder; on son, James Arbogast, of Canton Ohio; five stepchildren, Mona, of Pennsylvainia; Greta, Hazel, and Pauline , all of Canton, Ohio and Ralph Arbogast, of Clover Lick. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon by the Rev. Robert D. St.John. Burial was in the Sandy Valley Cemetery at Waynesburg, Ohio
