Wanda Ola (Sifford) Richardson was the daughter of Thomas Andrew Sifford and Novice Poole Sifford. She enlisted in the Women’s Army Corps on September 1, 1943 and proudly served in Naples(Foggia) and in Rome(Arno) with the WAC Headquarters Company until receiving the Good Conduct Medal, the WAAC Service Medal, the EAME Campaign Medal with Two Bronze stars and an honorable discharge in July of 1945. Wanda was a member of the Shady Oaks Baptist Church. She was known as a hard-worker who loved cooking, quilting playing Bingo at Lakeland House with her friends. Wanda spent many wonderful years traveling to every state in the US and over 13 foreign countries which was one of her favorite things to do. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother who will be greatly missed by all she knew and loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, W.C. “Jelly” Richardson; son Richard Richardson; two brothers; two sisters; sons-in-law, Jerry Davis and Donald Nunn.

Survivors include children, Roberta Davis of Cross Roads, Lila Boyd and husband Butch of Athens, W.C. Richardson, Jr. of San Marcos; three siblings, Tom Sifford of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, LaVonne Luedke of Dallas, Larry Sifford of Dallas; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
