He bad been ill and a great sufferer for nearly a year from an internal tumor which was removed several weeks ago while be was receiving treatment at Hot Springs, Ark., and it was hopeful on his return home that the surgical operation would give him relief, but he gradually failed and after several hours of unconsciousness, passed away.
He was born at Glenville, and prior to his illness had for some time been a reliable employe of the Consolidated F&M Insurance co. He was a young man of intelligence and upright character, possessing the esteem of all and was regarded as one of the best and most promising young men of the community. He was the oldest son of V. Gillrup and besides his wife and little daughter, his father, two sisters and two brothers survive him, to all of whom the most sincere sympathy is extended. The funeral services were held at Christ church Saturday afternoon, Rev. G. M. Mueller, the rector, officiating. There was a large attendance and many beautiful floral offerings testified the affectionate regard of friends. The Interment was at Glenville where the mother, who died many years ago, is buried.
