He was a US Air Force veteran who served during the Korean Conflict, and he was married in 1953 to Artye Miriam (Spivey) Taylor (1933–2017).
Alfred was 52 years old and married when he died on October 27, 1981 in Montgomery, Montgomery County, Alabama.
Survivors included his widow, three sons, twin daughters and his mother, all in Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee and his brother John Jackson "Jay" Taylor in Peking. China.
Graveside Services were held on October 29th in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Nashville.
