Russell Allen Gaston, 57, of Oak Grove, Missouri passed away Monday, March 26, 2018. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 31st at First Baptist Church of Oak Grove; burial in Mecklin Cemetery, Oak Grove. The family will receive friends and family from 12:00 p.m. until the funeral starts. Contributions can be made to the Oak Grove Athletics Booster Club.

Russell was born on February 4, 1961 in North Kansas City, MO, son of Carrol and Evelyn (Rand) Gaston. He was a little league wrestling coach for many years and is on the Oak Grove Sports Wall of Fame. Russell enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, coffee time with his friends in the morning, road trips with his wife, and spending time with his boys, who weren’t just his sons but his best friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Carolyn Easter; and one brother, Royce Gaston.

His survivors include his wife of 36 years, Emily Gaston of the home; two sons, Jacob Gaston (Elizabeth) of Oak Grove and Jayson Gaston (fiancée, Natalie) of Oak Grove; one grandson, Ryder Gaston of Oak Grove; two brothers: Randy Gaston (Melody) of Glenwood, IA, and Darrell Becker (Wendy) of Richmond; one sister, Elizabeth Bullock (Mark) of North Kansas City, MO; his in-laws, Duke and Harriette Wrisinger of Oak Grove; as well as many other in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.
