NEW PHILADELPHIA - Kathleen D. Steffen, 61, of 1130 Third NW, died at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 29, 1997, at the Columbia Mercy Medical Center in Canton.
Born July 21, 1935, in Newcomerstown, she was the daughter of the late William and Virginia Mae (Conrad) Thomas.
On Oct. 25, 1953, she married Philip E. Steffen. He preceded her in death on Dec. 21, 1961.
Mrs. Steffen graduated from Newcomerstown High School in 1953.
She was a member of the New Life Church of God and was the church secretary.
Survivors include two daughters, Christie L. Endres and husband Fred of New Philadelphia, and Karie Rae Christian and husband Mark of Sunbury; a son, Donald W. "Bill" Steffen of New Philadelphia; two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Erin; a half-sister, Carole Thomas Cornell of St. Simons Island, Ga.; a stepmother, Edith Thomas Holdsworth of Tu-son, Ariz.; three sisters-in-law, Melba Steffen and Yolonda Johnson, both of Newcomerstown, and Hilma Thomas of Coshocton; a brother-in-law, Donald Steffen of Newcomerstown; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Steffen was preceded in death by a brother, William L. "Bill" Thomas.
A memorial service will be conducted at 1 1 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 1, 1997, at the Addy Funeral Home with Pastor Dorsen E. Overtone officiating.
No calling hours will be observed. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the New Life Church of God, 310 Main St., Dover, Ohio 44622.
