Michael Thomas Carlon was born on the 28th Mar 1858 as Philip Carlon at Indented Head. The 1st son and 2nd child of Thomas Carlon and Mary Weldon.

Michael married Catherine Carlon on the 10th Jan 1883 at St Mary's Church at Inglewood, Victoria. They had 13 children.

In around 1895, Michael joined the Port Fairy branch of the Hibernian Australasian Catholic Benefit Society.

On the 23rd May 1935 at Port Fairy, Michael passed from pulmonary tuberculosis at the age of 77. He was interred at the Port Fairy Cemetery on the 25th May 1935.
