Kathryn Louise Neal Williams, 103, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2020, at Jesse Helms Nursing Center in Monroe, NC.

She was born May 22, 1916, in Knoxville, TN, the daughter of Hollis Brimer and Ida Holbert Brimer.

Mrs. Williams was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Oak Ridge. She came to Oak Ridge for work during the Second World War as part of the Manhattan Project. After the war, she worked as a caregiver and was later employed by the local school system as a worker in the cafeteria at Linden Elementary School.

She was preceded in death by husbands William Herman Neal and Edgar Williams; her sister Evelyn Sutton; and her daughter Jo Anne Proctor.

She is survived by: Sons, Edgar Franklin Williams Jr. (Mabel) of Wilson, NC; Bobby Neal (Frances) of Clinton, TN; Daughters - Rebecca Jane McCoy (Ed) of Chattanooga, TN and Evelyn Gail Litton (Doug) of Marshville, NC. Grandchildren, Eddie (Anna), Beth, and Michael McCoy; Kim Thomas (Greg); Lesa Lewis (Keith); Kristie Pryor (Greg); James Bass (Nancy), Bucky Bass (Debbie); several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She raised her family with William in Oak Ridge, TN. After his death, she married Edgar Williams and moved to Silver Springs, MD, later moving to Monroe, NC.

In her later years she lived in a memory care facility in Monroe, NC, where she touched many hearts with her kind-hearted spirit, spunk, and sense of humor.

She was well loved by all who cared for her.

She will be remembered for her work ethic, strong-willed personality, unconditional love and support of her family, and her faith in God.

Family and friends will meet for a graveside service at Oak Ridge Memorial Park on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 12:00 Noon with Rector Louisa Parsons officiating.
