Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 27, 2020 at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home Winterset Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, February 28, at the funeral home with burial following in Union Chapel Cemetery, Madison County.

Lucile was born October 9, 1927 in Macksburg, Iowa, the daughter of Gerald and Mabel (Thomas) McKee. She enjoyed being the oldest daughter in the family with 11 children. She attended and graduated from Macksburg Schools. She worked helping other families by homemaking, and served at the Macksburg school kitchen before becoming a long-time resident at Patterson, Iowa.
Lucile enjoyed 31 years of traveling with her family and attending the Church of God. She enjoyed attending horseshoe pitching tournaments and the Iowa State Fair with her late husband, Art. She also enjoyed raising puppies and goats, riding mules, and tending a large garden and many flower beds. She liked playing cards and sewing. Lucile especially loved spending time with and unconditionally loving her many grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Jim (Cathy) Garrett, DeLynn (Rick) Beverlin, Diana (Marvin-deceased) Pickering, Dennis (Sally) Brown, and Gary (Pam) Brown; grandchildren, Gary Donham (Miranda), Tim Donham (Renee), Lara Garrett, Stacie Carter (Chad), Chelle TenHaken (Michael), Kim Hutchison (Dan), Michelle Garrett, Denise Russel, Melissa Rossatti, Cindy Weis-Brown, Kodi Beverlin, Jennifer Halda (April), Angela Holtry (Kyle), Art Brown (Billie), Andrea Conard (Eric), Rachel Miller (Erik), Jeremiah Brown, Tiffany Schulte (Derek), and Dominique Brown; siblings, Lyman (Lola) McKee, Maxine (John) Anderson, Afada (Dwight) Silverthorn, Iola (Marvin) Chickering, Larry (Ivy) McKee, and Carlotta (Ken) Wilcox; many great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; and several other relatives and friends.
Lucile was preceded in death by her husband, Art Brown; parents, Gerald and Mabel McKee; sons, Gary (Deana-survivor) Garrett and Sam Brown; brothers, Francis (Joe/Mack), Melvin (Dory), Bill (Ines), and Roger (Donna-survivor) McKee; and granddaughter, RaeLynn Donham.
