Sandy was involved in the home construction business. He had his own log house on John Brown Lane in Knoxville for many years. He belonged to Boonsboro Bible Church. In his free time he enjoyed woodworking, maintaining his yard and home, and camping.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Gloria; also two sons, his wife's granddaughter that they raised as their own daughter, a step-son, seven grandchildren, a great-granddaughter, two sisters- in- law and two brothers-in-law.

He was predeceased by his first wife Beatrice Dinkle, his parents, two brothers, a sister, granddaughter Willow Marshall, step-son John Wentzell and many in-laws.

Sandy was my great-grandmother's nephew. When I was a kid and we took her on visits back to "the country" where she was from, there were always a few relatives we would visit. Her nephew Sandy was one of those. I visited that log house a lot of times. Sandy also had some Coulter family reunions there. My Dad kept in touch with Sandy and Gloria all these years, and tried to visit with them each time he found himself in his native Maryland.
