James Don Dewveall passed from this life on August 3, 2019.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 5 at 10 am at The Church at Azle 1801 S. Stewart followed by7 internment at Ash Creek Cemetery.
James was born on July 3, 1947 in Fort Worth to Swenson Dewveall and Sudie Taylor. James joined the Navy in the summer of 1964 and served for four years. During some of that time he served as a plane captain for VF 103 attached to the USS Saratoga. After the Navy he went to mortuary college in Dallas and served as a funeral director for several years before starting his career at General Dynamics as an aircraft mechanic. He retired from Lockheed Martin in 2004. During retirement he had more time to tinker with his vintage cars, work on his genealogy, work on rental properties and do the traveling and cruising he enjoyed.
He was preceded in death by his brother Jerald Dewveall and parents. Sue and Swen Dewveall.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years Kay; sons, J. Don Dewveall Je. and wife, Kristie and Justin Dewveall and wife, Shawna; eight grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; sister, Marsha Burney, and husband, Dewayne; brother, Roger Dewveall and wife, Liz and numerous nieces and nephewss and countless friends.
