Robert William Hughes, 85, of Union City passed away 7:53 p.m. Monday, November 4, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.

Mr. Hughes was born February 5, 1934, in Hickman, Kentucky, son of the late Jack and Alice Grace (Sanders) Hughes. He married Ruby (Broyles) Hughes March 7, 1954. She survives. Mr. Hughes had been employed by Vaughn Electric Company for 35 years and was the owner of the former Hughes Electric for 10 years. Robert served in the United States Army in Korea and was of the Baptist faith.

He is also survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Denise and David Lee of Troy; one son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Corina Hughes of Union City; one sister, Ruby Katherine Marks (Earl) of Lynchburg, Virginia; five grandchildren, Nicole Kincade (Jeff), Steven Lee, Amber Parker (Keith), and Lindsey Beth Atkins (Michael) all of Union City and Stefan Laza of Bucarest, Romania; and nine great grandchildren, Kelsey Parker, Jack Logan Jones, Macie Atkins, Sam Jones and Evey James Atkins all of Union City, Katelyn Kincade and Kacey Kincade both of Troy, and Remi Grace Lee and Grayden Lee both of Hornbeak.

He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Frances Grissom and Joyce Puckett.
