OTTO ALFRED RITTER is the son of Dr. Otto Ritter Jr. and Mrs. Mollie Gertrude Starr (Wright) Ritter.

He is the maternal grandson of James "Jim" A. Starr and Mrs. Cora Josephine "Josie" Harris Starr.

He is the brother of L.C. Ritter, Jewel Hugh Wright and Melvin Lucious Wright.

He is the husband of Mrs. Jean Frances Paxton Ritter.

He is the father of Kathryn "Kathy" Lynn Ritter.

"Memorial services for Otto A. Ritter, 77, of Longview, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity Episcopal Church with the Very Reverend Doctor Michael C. Macey officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home. Mr. Ritter died Wednesday morning, in Longview, after a lengthy illness. He was born April 6, 1920, in Jefferson, and he graduated from Marshall High School, in Marshall. During World War II, he served his country as a Colonel in the Army Air Corps. Later, he attended East Texas Baptist College, and he graduated from the Baylor School of Law. Mr. Ritter had practiced law in Longview for almost 50 years. Mr. Ritter was a former Jaycee, Rotarian, and an active member of Trinity Episcopal Church, where he was a past vestry member and senior warden. He served on the first board of Good Shepherd Hospital, and he was involved in the organization of Trinity Day School (now Trinity School of Texas). An avid golfer, Mr. Ritter enjoyed playing golf with his friends in Longview, Austin and throughout the South. Mr. Ritter was preceded in death by his wife, Jean; and two nephews, David Wright and Craig Kenyon. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Bobby Mathew Dove; and four grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family rquest memorials to Trinity Episcopal Church or the Trinity School of Texas."
