He was the son of Paulus Edward Langford and Lessie Reed "Grubbs" Langford. He was married to Sarah Evelyn Miller. Per death record he was a shoe worker at Craddock - Terry Shoe Co. in Lynchburg, VA at the time of his death. He died of chronical bronchial asthma at age 42.
