Mr. Cooper was a veteran of WW II serving as a US Navy Aviator. He then joined the Air National Guard and served as the Commander of the 232nd Mobile Combat Communications Squadron for 25 years retiring in 1978.

Mr. Cooper was preceded in death by his wife, Sara C. Cooper; his parents, Taylor Lee and Daisy Archer Cooper; and his brothers, Archer Cooper and Albert Cooper.
