A Franklin native, he was the son of Albert Drayton and Hortense Nance Jordan. His wife, Charley Vene Tinnon Jordan, died in 1990.
Survivors include three sons, Ben Jordan of Orlando, Fla., and Charlie Jordan and Steve Jordan, both of Birmingham, Ala., and three grandchildren.
Jordan graduated from Vanderbilt University and earned his master's degree from Peabody College.
He played football at Vanderbilt and later coached at Middle Tennessee schools. He owned Raider Shirt Laundry.
Visitation with the family will be from 6:30 to 8:30 tonight.
