Services for Nance Bennett "River" Jordan, 80, of East Bell Street, who died Friday at his home, will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Jennings & Ayers Chapel with Gene Wise officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

A Franklin native, he was the son of Albert Drayton and Hortense Nance Jordan. His wife, Charley Vene Tinnon Jordan, died in 1990.

Survivors include three sons, Ben Jordan of Orlando, Fla., and Charlie Jordan and Steve Jordan, both of Birmingham, Ala., and three grandchildren.

Jordan graduated from Vanderbilt University and earned his master's degree from Peabody College.

He played football at Vanderbilt and later coached at Middle Tennessee schools. He owned Raider Shirt Laundry.

Visitation with the family will be from 6:30 to 8:30 tonight.
