Services will be at 12 p.m. Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. with visitation from 10 A.M. until service time. Burial will be in North Fork Cemetery. Family suggest memorials be made to Breast Cancer Research.
Tot was born in Pierson Station, IL, the daughter of Harry W. and Pauline Graham Chase. She was delivered at home by her father. Tot started her early life in a two-room school and saved one of her class mates from getting ran over by a train. Tot worked as a homemaker, mother and at K-mart and Sam’s Club. She was a member of Antioch Christian Church, the Decatur Quilters Guild, TOPS and Pleasant Grove Home Extension. She had a great sense of humor and enjoyed playing cards with friends and family and also enjoyed traveling. Tot served our country faithfully via seven of her children and three of her grandchildren that served in the United States Armed Forces.
Tot married Ronald Ray Schuman Sr. on December 1, 1951 in Decatur. He preceded her in death in Nov. 1996.
Surviving are her sons; Ron Jr. of Decatur; Jauque of Laramie WY; Timothy of Highpoint NC; Terry of Decatur; Todd of Alamogordo NM; daughters, Dianna Smith of Marion; Teresa Schuman of Estes Park CO; sister Dorma Lewis of Crestwood KY; brother Kenneth Chase; 59 grandchildren, great-grandchildren & great-great-grandchildren; 34 step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, step-great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, 4 sisters, husband, 1 son, 1 grandchild and 1 great-grandchild.
