Nita Lafate Posey passed away February 5, 2019 at the age of 86.

Visitation will be Friday, February 8th at Rotan Church of Christ from 11:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. with services also there at 2:00 p.m.

Nita was born September 16, 1932 in Jones County to Ira Theodore Green and Hattie Louise Holden Green.

She graduated from Hamlin High School where she was a cheerleader and an accomplished student.

After graduation she worked at Southwestern Bell Telephone as an operator for three years.

She married the only love of her life Glenn Harold Posey on September 23, 1953. They made their home on a farm, raising cotton and cattle in the shadow of the Double Mountains in Stonewall County. They were faithful members of the Rotan Church of Christ where she taught Sunday School, raising three daughters: Carol, Gayle, and Connie.

Nita was a proud farmer’s wife for 53 years, feeding workers, moving equipment, hauling trailers, and supporting the never-ending work that comes with farm life. She took pride in their farm and her family, raising children and spoiling grandchildren with faith, love, and plenty of laughter. She was happiest when surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Glenn, as well as her father Ira Theodore Green and mother Hattie Louise Holden Green, two brothers Bobby Green and Charlie Green, two sisters, Irma Suddereth and Hope Blanton Sellers, and one son-in-law Jack C Price and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is survived by one sister, Jo Story Rogers.
She is survived by her three daughters, Carol Ann Price, Glennis Gayle Duke, and Connie Beth Doss, two sons-in-law, William Duke and Kenneth Doss, eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, Nita requests donations can be made in her name to Rotan Church of Christ or the charity of your choice.
