Reneau “Johnny” D. Johnston, age 91, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Cloud County Health Center in Concordia. He was born Feb. 15, 1927 in Chandler, Texas to Talmadge D. and Jimmie V. (Holley) Johnston.
He served in the United States Navy from Aug. 1944 to July 1946 then served in the United States Army from Dec. 1949 to Sept. 1952 during WW II. He was honorably discharged from both military units.
He married Betty J. Witt on Jan. 3, 1951 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on Oct. 7, 1991.
They made their home in Oklahoma and he later moved to Jamestown, Kansas then moving to Sunset Home in Concordia.
Johnny was a truck driver for a vegetable transport company which he learned the art of trucking during his military service.
He was a member of the local American Legion Post #76 of Concordia.
Johnny is survived by his sister, Ann Sanders, Tyler, Tx.; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Betty, son, Terry Johnston, 3 sisters, 4 brothers.
A private burial will take in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on Friday, December 14, 2018.
