"Vesta" as his family called him in my grandmother Hazel Pearl Taylor's time, was the son of Andrew Riner and Hester Everhart. In 1883 he married Mary Lee Vaughn, the daughter of Daniel Vaughn and a Taylor daughter, probably Rachel. (The DNA and other factors check out on this, but no specific document has been found.) Together they had fifteen children, Gertrude May, Nellie Lee, John Robert, Walter Thomas, Maud Aulena, Myrtle Melissa, Fannie M., Sylvester Washington "Jack", Daniel Earl, William McKinney, Floyd Casey, James Frederick, Russell Merle, Ruth B., and Estella Lenora "Stella".

DNA of descendants will lead to the Millers, Sniders, and Studebakers of Berkeley County, (W) Virginia, on his father Andrew Miller/Riner's side, and the Thomas and Lydia Taylor family (not Lydia Dearing) of Jackson County, Missouri on his mother's side. There have been Vaughn DNA pairings to confirm the paternal connection as well.
