Obituary
James "Jim" Robert Graham, age 69, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, 27 September after a motorcycle accident in southern Missouri. He was born on July 31, 1949 in Fort Scott, Kansas to Robert and Ethelene and lived the majority of his adult life in the Greater Kansas City area.
He was a graduate of Park Hill High School and was drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam conflict and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan.
He attended New Life Church in Oak Grove, Missouri where he passionately volunteered as an Usher and an active member of the "The Norman Project", (his church's men's group) serving to help those in need.
He always had a smile on his face, provoking laughter and joy, and is described by all that knew him as one of the most selfless men they have ever known.
The things that he enjoyed most were baseball, football, motorcycle trips, camping, spending time with his family (especially the grandchildren), and traveling with Nancy, the love of his life.
He is survived by his wife of thrity-six years, Nancy (Oberdiek) Graham, children: Mike Graham, Steve (Valerie), Jimmy (Rachel), Jill (Glen), and Chris. His brothers: Denis (Chie), Terry (Tammy), Mark (Janice), Kevin(Stacey), his sister Karen (Michael). Fourteen beautiful grandchildren and six beautiful great-grandchildren.
Services will be held on Saturday, October 6 at 2 pm at New Life Church, 801 SW 1st Street, Oak Grove, Missouri.
Prior to his passing, Jim requested that in the case of his death, donations be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center in memory of his late daughter-in-law, Heather Graham.
