Oddly enough my grandmother was always in contact with a friend of his that lived in the same town she did. He gave her information about John and it was said she always knew where he was.
John Jasper was my grandfather. I never knew him. This is what I did know of him. He served in WW I was married thrice, once to my Grandmother Emiline Essary Burnett Davis, once to a woman name unknown and they lived in Colorado. Then a woman named Alta and they lived in Anderson, McDonald County, Missouri. He did contact my dad once when he was a teen and that was all. Offered to set him up in garage to work on cars with ???? My dad refused the offer. I guess that could be considered a good thing and a try. He did not even know the man. He was not in the picture from the time my dad was still "in the oven" Emiline left Johnny when she was pregnant. My birth announcement sent to his parents was returned unopened to my grandmother. I understand they did one time try to snatch my dad when he was about 2 yrs. old. That failed and that was the last of them. Emiline's brothers had some messages for them and more or less it would not be a pretty site if you try to kidnap the child again. When I spoke with the 3rd wife it was known that he was always unhappy about not seeing his child. Also when he was dying I understand he was very miserable as he did not have any contact and that was very much on his mind at that time. Think he may have wanted something to absolve the lifetime of not having contact. Or that would be one of those things in our life that went wrong and we could not fix.

She left him in Oklahoma, and she would never say anything about him when asked. Not good or bad, well the bad was no, you do not want to contact or meet him. So her life for that few months is lost to us. She simply refused to discuss him in any way. That means I did not learn anything favorable as well though.
